Larry Evans

With over 25 years of hands-on experience, Mr. Evans is one of the nation’s leading coal mining industry experts, providing technical, operational, and strategic M&A support to companies throughout all of North America’s coal basins. His professional experience has also included project activities in the UK, China, and Venezuela, where he has supported clients with analysis of world-wide coal market trends, logistics, and supply chain dynamics.

Mr. Evans served as VP of Business Development and Strategy for Corsa Coal; Director of Exploration and Technical Support for Walter Energy; VP and GM of Western Coal; Director of Mining and Financial Analysis for Marshall Miller and Associates; and Director of Operational Technical Services at Peabody Coal.

In addition to the many complex projects, he has undertaken throughout his career, Mr. Evans provides financial certification of coal reserves for Security Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, mineral property valuations for large assets transactions, design reviews for mine development activities, and expert witness services to trustees and counsel involved in bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr. Evans is a Registered Qualified Person with the Society of Mining Engineering accreditation and has served as President of the West Virginia Mining Institute and a Board Member of the West Virginia Coal Association.

Mr. Evans holds a BS in Mining Engineering and MBA from West Virginia University.
